Sub-Publishing is quite simple to grasp. Essentially, a music company that owns a library of music in say the U.S. draws up an agreement to allow a company in say Australia to represent its catalogue in that territory. This harks back to the traditional territory based method of music licensing. Sub publishing arrangements can make music licensing complicated as sometime a producer will have to speak to one company in one territory to “clear” a piece of music and then speak to another company in another territory to “clear” the same music in that second territory.
Cinephonix doesn’t use sub-publishers. We publish our own music around the world. So you only need to come to us once to get your music cleared for worldwide use.
