Luke Gartner-Brereton

Luke Gartner-Brereton is an instrumentalist, composer and folk guitarist from Brisbane, Australia. Awarded the 2012 QMusic Award (“World” category) for the song "Panini Fandango", Gartner-Brereton began his solo career in early 2011 with the album Dream Baby Dream, following on closely with Serendipity (2011), and, Mucho Grande (2012).

Classically-inspired, with folk and world influences, Luke’s music relies heavily on the use of classical guitar layered throughout each song, both as a percussive and melodic device. The resulting music tends to blur traditional genres (blending classical tones with folk/Latin rhythms, and even blues), reflecting the composer’s diverse musical background and tendency to employ strong melodic structures throughout the music.
