Lionel is a prolific composer and producer. He has produced countless indie artists, and has released over 90 albums of his own music.
His commercial work includes clients such as Sony PSP, Cadillac, Buick, BMW, Mercedes, Glenfiddich, Carslberg, Verizon, Adidas, DirectTV, Louis Vuitton, Kohl's and Macy's, to name a few. He has composed music for television shows for MTV, ABC, NBC, Oxygen, Canal+, Discovery, Showtime, Biography, NatGeo and countless independent films, including Stiff Luv, The Vinyl Frontier, The Pool, and Shelter (Sundance Film Festival candidate).
Lionel’s band, "The Plastic FanTastics" has received critical acclaim in the New York rock scene, described as "a cross between Nine Inch Nails and Love And Rockets" by Babysue.com. "The Plastic Fantastics combine the anger and angst of old school industrial with a little punk flair…catchy music and lyrics, done to perfection" writes industrial.org. Wayne Kramer of MC5 adds, “It's so refreshing to listen to a band of this generation explore a new sound.”
Lionel has recently completed producing Maggie Kim's sophomore album "Rock Tease" (including the remix of a track with John Legend), Swiss artist Jess Ublime's debut album (including tracks with Steve Howe of "Yes"), as well as a follow-up album for his new project "Robot Like Me". He is currently scoring several independent features and savouring the release of his acoustic albums "The Acoustic Sessions".
Born in France to a Moroccan father and French mother, raised in Canada, and living in New York City for over a decade, Lionel has always found expression as a musician, composer, producer, painter, photographer, writer, graphic designer and short film director. He has established himself as a multidisciplinary artist and a respected contender on the New York scene.
