Rosalind Richards

California based composer Rosalind Richards is a classically trained flutist who composes in many genres such as ambient, minimalist, atmosphere/soundscape and contemporary instrumental World Music. Many of her compositions feature electronic techniques combined with live flute performance. Ms. Richards was previously Principal Flute with the La Jolla Symphony Orchestra.

Rosalind has produced five albums and recently won recognition by the Japanese Cultural Center in Kyoto with the purchase of her Asian music. Her World Fusion tracks have been sold to film directors in Europe and are receiving airplay on international radio.

As an expert on ethnic rhythms and song structure, she has taught World Music classes in universities for over 10 years. She is influenced by minimalism and electronica incorporating a calm and colorful Debussy-style and by older artistic influences such as Brian Eno and Philip Glass. Earlier, Rosalind's group Ginseng played concert venues with Frank Zappa's band, The Mothers of Invention.
